Yay, fascism is over! The new administration’s handy dandy military tribunal has made quick work of all the serious higher ups. But what about everyone else? In How to Feel Feelings, five total normies who may or may not have Done Some Bad Stuff are forced to attend group therapy until their zany, enigmatic therapist decides if they’re worthy of amnesty. How to Feel Feelings is a semi-devised, darkly comedic take on the rise and fall of authoritarian regimes and what to do with the people who seemed like they were sort of just fine with the whole thing, or at least didn’t really want to talk about it. The show remixes contemporary mental health buzzword culture, the history of truth and reconciliation commissions and reeducation camps, and postmodern absurdism to encourage its fictional characters and audience members alike to truthfully answer one simple question: how do you really feel?
